Diagnostics, approval and life extension
Diagnose the fault.
Approve the route. Extend useful life.
A transparent assessment journey for individual devices and business batches—starting with the problem, protecting data and showing the next decision before chargeable work begins.
Transparent repair decisions
Start with the fault—not a repair promise.
Leading repair journeys begin by identifying the product and diagnosing the issue before asking a customer to approve work. SIT Recycling follows the same transparent pattern while adding data, asset and circular-outcome controls for business equipment.
Diagnostic checkpoint
Device identity → visible symptom → likely cause → repair decision Illustrative process. The confirmed route depends on the assessed device and approved scope.Device-first diagnostics
Choose the device family. Describe the problem you can see.
Product-led repair pages make the first step clear. Select a device family below to see the information that helps SIT Recycling review the route accurately.
Selected route · 01
Laptop diagnostics and repair planning
Power, charging, thermal, storage, keyboard, display and performance faults are assessed before a repair route is proposed.
- ✓Model and serial reference
- ✓Battery, charger and power behaviour
- ✓Storage health and operating symptoms
- ✓Physical condition and data sensitivity
Selected route · 02
Desktop and workstation assessment
Boot, power-supply, memory, storage, cooling, graphics and peripheral faults are triaged with business continuity and data access in view.
- ✓Configuration and installed components
- ✓Power-on and diagnostic behaviour
- ✓Storage and data-access restrictions
- ✓Repair versus replacement threshold
Selected route · 03
Tablet condition and repair assessment
Charging, battery, display, buttons, ports, connectivity and enrolment or lock status are checked before parts or labour are proposed.
- ✓Exact model and capacity
- ✓Charging and battery behaviour
- ✓Display, touch and enclosure condition
- ✓Account, MDM and activation status
Selected route · 04
Phone fault and access review
Screen, battery, charging, camera, audio, buttons and lock status are considered alongside the value and data risk of the device.
- ✓Make, model and storage capacity
- ✓Visible and intermittent symptoms
- ✓Passcode, account and activation status
- ✓Back-up and data-retention requirement
Selected route · 05
Display and monitor triage
Power, panel, backlight, input, cable and stand issues are checked against expected replacement cost and practical repairability.
- ✓Screen size and model
- ✓Power and indicator behaviour
- ✓Inputs, cables and stand condition
- ✓Panel damage or image symptoms
Selected route · 06
Business and education batch triage
Multiple devices can be assessed under an agreed decision matrix so repeated faults, parts demand, repair limits and evidence remain consistent.
- ✓Asset list and device families
- ✓Common fault patterns and quantities
- ✓Data, account and enrolment controls
- ✓Repair ceiling, turnaround and reporting
Visible fault or symptom
Visible repair journey
Know which decision the device has reached.
A clear repair experience separates receipt, diagnosis, quote approval, work and handback. The example tracker below demonstrates the intended status architecture without presenting a live customer record.
Diagnosis in progress
Reported symptoms are being compared with power, storage, thermal and component-test results before a scoped route is proposed.
Approval and quality boundaries
What should remain visible before work starts.
The repair experience is designed to prevent vague acceptance, surprise charges and unclear outcomes.
Request a scoped assessmentFault and scope
What has been observed, what will be tested and what is outside the proposed work.
Price and assumptions
Estimated labour, parts, tax, delivery and conditions that may change the route.
Data and access
Back-up responsibility, credentials, locks and any protected method required for testing.
Parts and timing
Availability, compatibility, expected lead time and any substitution requiring approval.
Warranty terms
Any repair warranty applies only where it is stated in the approved quote and completion record.
No-repair outcome
The return, replacement, value-recovery or recycling route when repair is declined or unsuitable.
Recorded handback
Return the device with a decision your team can understand.
The final record depends on the approved service, but the repair journey is designed to connect the intake, diagnosis, approval, work and final status.
- ✓Device and reported-fault record
- ✓Diagnosis or assessment summary
- ✓Quote and approval status
- ✓Work and parts recorded where applicable
- ✓Functional checks and unresolved exceptions
- ✓Repair, return, replacement or circular-route outcome
Common repair questions
Clear answers before you hand over a device.
These answers describe the intended service boundary. The confirmed scope and commercial terms are agreed for each accepted request.
Does submitting a request mean the repair is accepted?+
No. A stored request confirms receipt only. SIT Recycling reviews the device, fault, data risk, parts route and operational capacity before confirming an assessment or repair.
Will work begin before I approve the price?+
No chargeable repair work should begin until the scope, estimated price and material assumptions have been presented and explicit approval has been recorded.
What happens when a repair is not economical?+
The outcome can be a secure return, a repair-versus-replacement recommendation, value recovery, refurbishment review or responsible recycling. The reason should remain visible.
Can you repair business or school batches?+
Yes, the request architecture supports batch triage. The project should define quantities, device families, repeated faults, data controls, decision limits, timing and required evidence.
How are data and account locks handled?+
The request asks for data sensitivity and access restrictions. Customer credentials should never be pasted into a public form. Any required access method is agreed through a protected process.
Are parts and repair warranties guaranteed?+
Parts availability and any repair warranty depend on the approved quote, device, supplier route and work completed. These terms should be stated clearly before approval rather than implied generically.
Controlled request intake
Request a repair assessment
A stored reference confirms receipt only. It does not confirm stock, a repair, collection, price, programme acceptance or account access.
